About Me!
Hi, I’m Arely Martinez Garcia! I’m a software engineer and recent summa cum laude graduate of Lehman College, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Web Development and a minor in French.
I’ve always enjoyed building things with tech and figuring out how different pieces come together to solve a problem. I currently work at Deloitte, where I contribute to internal technology and AI-focused tools. Along the way, I’ve also worked on projects through internships at the ACLU, Liberty Mutual, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and BlackFacts.com.
I work primarily with technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Java, Python, and SQL, and I’m always looking for opportunities to expand what I can build and learn.
I care deeply about who technology serves. As a first-generation college graduate, I’m passionate about creating technology that is thoughtful, accessible, and useful, particularly for communities that have historically been underrepresented in tech. I’m excited to keep learning, building, and finding ways to use technology for meaningful impact.
Aside from my passion for computer science, I am also a huge fan of sports, particularly soccer and baseball. As a huge fan of the Mexican league (Liga MX), I am an avid supporter of Club America, Puebla, and Tigres. In Europe, some of my favorite teams are FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich. In baseball, I am a die-hard fan of the Yankees.
